Well, This Should Turn Out Interesting
And I am talking about me and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
You see, I have always been intrigued by the Metal Gear Solid series over the last few years, with its convoluted storyline that I cannot make heads or tails of, but it does have me wanting to learn more and play these games. Of course, that is until I actually try to play one and then things go all kinds of sideways.
It is not the stealth that gets me, as I have played the Thief games, Dishonored, Splinter Cell and more. Stealth I can handle. I think my bigger issue normally comes down to the wacky controls that seem obtuse to one that is used to either mouse and keyboard or standard FPS/Third person shooter controls.. Well, the controls and then the barrier to entry that is the aforementioned long running plotline.
There are so many characters, twists, turns and games to play that I just start getting lost. Again, it is not that don’t like solid stories, but trying to get all the meanings and plot twists can be daunting when you only have the Wikipedia entries to back you. I have MGS 1-4 here in my house, but I just run into a brick wall when trying to play them.
So why would I even think about playing Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Well, I want to be involved in the conversation and someday, I do want to get into this series. It also might be that I am craving more games to play on my Xbox One as games have been far and few between.
So I will play it, and I might even stream it, but I can’t guarantee I will like or enjoy it. Who knows, maybe this will be the one. It just took Jack Bauer to make it interesting.
