My Gaming 2017 By the Numbers

Here we are at the end of another year and this year, I thought about starting something new. I wanted to put together some stats from my year in gaming. Some of these won’t have any real meaning as I need to compare them to the end of the upcoming 2018. But some might find this to be interesting.

Games Finished:
Here are the games that I actually finished in 2017. I have them broken down by platform to make it a little easier.

    Xbox One:

  • Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Game
  • Life is Strange: Before the Storm
  • Final Fantasy XV (including story DLC)
  • Mass Effect Andromeda
  • The Walking Dead: A New Frontier
  • South Park: The Fractured But Whole
  • Watch Dogs 2
  • Firewatch
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
    PlayStation 4

  • Yakuza 0
  • Hidden Agenda
  • Uncharted Lost Legacy
  • Late Shift
    Xbox 360

  • NCIS: The Video Game
    PlayStation Vita

  • Zero Time Dilemma
  • Persona 4: Dancing All Night
  • Code Realize: Guardian of Rebirth
  • Amnesia: Memories
  • Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation
  • Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havok

  • FIFA 17 – Hunter’s Journey
  • Far Cry 3
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
  • Batman: A Telltale Series
  • Hydrophobia
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
  • Alpha Polaris: A Horror Adventure Story

So we finished 28 games, which is rather bad when you consider how many games I buy in a year. Let’s hope we can put a better dent into our 2018 numbers. I am going to set a goal of finishing 40 games. Not sure if we can get there, but hone can hope. We are on the verge of beating several games, so I may get those out of the way early in the year.

As for Gamerscore, on Xbox/PC we will be starting the year at 126239. Our PlayStation Trophy level will start at 15, 64% of the way to level 16 with a total of 2252 trophies. The Nintendo Switch has no achievement system and I couldn’t figure out what to give you on the Steam side of things.

We did end up with two new consoles in my house with an Xbox One X and a Nintendo Switch. Sure, I needed neither of them, but I am happy that I have them. The Xbox One X has improved a lot of the games I own, and with my new Samsung 65″ 4K HDR TV, they look fantastic. The Nintendo Switch has been used here and there, but not for any extended period of time. It is used more by my son when we go places, as it helps him get centered with his balance issues.

More importantly, here are the top 10 games I found to be great and worth playing in 2017:

  1. Persona 5
  2. Yakuza 0
  3. Life is Strange: Before the Storm
  4. Horizon Zero Dawn
  5. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  6. FIFA 18
  7. Assassins Creed Origins
  8. South Park: The Fractured But Whole
  9. Uncharted Lost Legacy
  10. Forza Motorsport 7

So with all of that, may your 2018 be full of great gaming highlights, and we will revisit this at the end of 2018 to see how we compare.
